Oh! If only there weren’t as much spritzing! A kitty needs to breathe! There should be light or something to make the process less traumatizing!

animal cruelty and lame video
January 30th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
that was HILARIOUS! Great video!!!

right when the water starts coming out! thats the best part!!!
January 30th, 2007 at 8:16 pm
i wonder if the owner’s bought the “pet spa” machine :)

Anything other than a clean cat is a worthless waste of otherwise good breathing air for humans. I say keep the cat in longer, turn up the pressure and by all means use a good solid 2,500 watts of hot drying power to make sure Tabby is kittydust free.
Who was the moron who posted ”animal cruelty and lame video”? That comment screams, “overweight woman with no man to do her”.
As far as I’m concerned, this pet washing device should be mandatory for all owners of cats. One less cause for sneezing in the world. That and world peace, that’s all we need.
BOOYAH!

“Oh! If only there weren’t as much spritzing! A kitty needs to breathe! There should be light or something to make the process less traumatizing!”,…..
Yin, buddy, ole pal,…flame out for God sakes! I can almost see your hand covering your mouth in a total gasp of disbelief when you watched the video.
Are those girls jeans you’re wearing? Seriously,….

As a cat hater who is also allergic, I wonder if the washing device removed cat dander? Anyway, great video.

You’re all 100% wrong - those who want kitty torture need to look at the possibility of maybe some sort of sulferic bath that strips fur, skin, and all down to the bone.
Those who love animals, get a bumper sticker and add it to your collection of Rush Limbaugh propaganda (who pleaded guilty btw).
As for myself, I found it comical to watch this - (yes, the best part was when they first hit the water).
I personally believe animals should be left outside with a bowl of food, water, and a little home with some sort of insulation - then they can waller in their own defication as much as they like and it means absolutely nothing.

My husband and I watched this video, it was cruel to say the least. Cat hater, your comment “Who was the moron who posted ”animal cruelty and lame video”? That comment screams, “overweight woman with no man to do her”.” is wrong. I think this video IS lame and consists of animal cruelty myself, but I am married so you cant use that comment on me. So go buy a life or something, maybe enroll yourself in some counseling.

“OMG ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!!11!!1one: Get over it. There are more serious environmental problems in the world than cat-showers. For example, if you let your cat out then your cat is doing damage to your local environment. Here’s a link to how much damage poor, innocent kitty is doing:
“Urgency of problem [cat predation]: HIGH. With thirty-nine species in imminent danger, the feral cat dilemma needs to be resolved as soon as possible.”
http://www.american.edu/TED/cats.htm
And that’s just Australia. I think for all that kitty can handle a little shower. Cats are not the cute little wimps we pretend they are. They are fucking killing machines. Seriously. I kid you not. Snail’s Honor.
Anyway, I didn’t actually do real research to dig that link up, I just googled it. But how much homework do you expect me to do for the sake of this little board?
*The more you know!
**Knowing is half the battle!
***The other half mostly involves killing stuff!

Thats Australia not America, most cat owners/lovers dont let their cats out to play. Cats are not ment to be outside pets. Cats naturally hate water, it scares them. Putting a cat in water is the same as shoving yourself in an area filled with the thing that you hate and that scares you. While I agree that perhaps we have a cat over population which needs to be addressed. Still that is no reason to be cruel to them. The F.A.C.E clinic is working on this problem. Owning a pet is a responsibility, they require care, devotion and love. Your link speaks of feral cats and how the average domestic cat kills 25 “animals” a year, do you consider a rat or mouse to be of equal status to a cat?

Assholes. Should be charged with extreme animal cruelty. Its not cute, not funny. If you think it is, there’s something seriously wrong with you.

Just to be clear, I love animals (especially cats) and shudder at the thought of any *real* animal cruelty. With that said, I thought this video was hilarious. The people who object to this video (which amounted to little more than a light shower) are the type of hysterical PETA zealots that everyone ignores because of their outright lunacy in decrying everything from to nail clipping to pet baths as “animal cruelty”. They do more of a disservice to animals by cheapening that phrase than any amount of factory farming ever could.

Out in California, NOBODY keeps their cat inside. they just set out food for the cats, skunks, raccoons, and possums. We’ve got all four living in our complex, along with all the parasites which they carry.
Ever read about hookworm gestation? They’re passed thru the stool, grow in the dirt for two weeks, then come up to the surface to find a new host (using their whiplike hooks). Now think of innocent little feral kitty digging in your garden to poop there, and now you’ve got a totally infested vegetable garden which could infest you and your KIDS with parasites! Just imagine your two-year-old kid digging around in the dirt with his/her hands and how they invariably end up getting dirt in their mouths.
Too many idiots out here don’t understand that these “pets” are very dangerous to humans and carry diseases. As for the washing machine, they forgot to add one vital part of the cycle: the high-pressure kitty enema!

Oh - and catty couple - I love your quote “most cat owners/lovers dont let their cats out to play”
what planet do YOU live on?

That’s one scared cat, and I don’t find it amusing.
Scaring animals isn’t something I find funny, and besides, the cat does exactly what you’d expect it to do: it tries to escape.
I’m not shocked, but neither am I impressed.

any1 that has a cat that doesnt like to bath sure knows beats getting all scratched
March 23rd, 2007 at 11:00 am
Okay, so the video is a little amusing at first, but that cat looks scared to death. And it could’ve seriously been injured. Either by falling or having some type of stress/heart attack.
And to “any1 that has a cat that doesnt like to bath sure knows beats getting all scratched” most cats don’t like to go near water. It scares them, for some odd reason, and if you really loved your cat, you wouldn’t put it in a machine like that. Cats and most animals are totally dependant upon it’s owners. So that kinda makes them like a child… at least in my eyes. Because children are totally dependant upon their parents. So I don’t see the difference. Now what if your kid was deathly scared of the vaccum, and you stuck it in a small dark room with a running vaccum… wouldn’t you call that cruel?
To “overweight woman with no man to do her.” you’re sooo off base it isn’t even funny.
“As far as I’m concerned, this pet washing device should be mandatory for all owners of cats. One less cause for sneezing in the world. That and world peace, that’s all we need.” No, what we need is more people to give a fuck about something other than themselves. If you actually done that, you’d get a allergy pill and get on with your life. I would also recommend getting a vasectomy/tubal ligation, we don’t need more morons like you running around.
March 23rd, 2007 at 11:10 am
exactly, cats eventually need baths to be sanitary enough to keep around and it would be a much less harrowing experiance for the owner, most cats get violent when wet. that said, it did seem a bit exessive, I would worry that the spead of the water could cause a panicing cat to drown and If its jumping like that it could hit something and be hurt. Subjecting a cat to water is not cruel, doing it in an unsafe way is.

Praise be to Yin for the kitty

[…] you liked Kitty Washing Machine, you’ll like […]
April 18th, 2007 at 8:31 pm
wow…for a comical video to be blown way out of proportion…nice job there.
it’s not animal cruelty to give a cat a bath. it’s necessary. just because someone tries to invent some machine that will bathe an animal much more easily than a human with 2 hands (the pet, cat or dog, will keep running away and shaking off the soap/water), does not make him/her cruel towards animals.
I thought the video was hilarious. I’d like to try that “pet spa” out with my dog. I think she’d actually like it. I put her in the tub, and when I turn on the water, she jumps and tries to attack it. very funny to watch.
the cat was quite the acrobat. good stuff.

This was the worst act of cruelty i’ve ever seen. Cats are TERRIFIED
of water to begin with, but you take it further, lock them in a small,
dark box and surprise/scare them with the bursts of water from below.
This poor cat looks like it was dying at the end because it started to
give up trying to escape!
Very sick.
